Riccardo Niar Belletti is a composer for media and the concert hall, based in Milan (Italy). The main focus of Riccardo’s work is the area of intersection between sound design and music, and the exploration of “new” sounds through synthesis,               sampling/DSP, as well as extended techniques, physical manipulations and the construction of new instruments.

As producer, arranger, and conductor Riccardo has gathered experience on a variety of musical genres and has   worked/collaborated with hundreds of musicians from over 50 countries (including A.R. Rahman, Thomas Newman, Michael League, Mayssa Karaa, Zakir Hussain, Rob Lewis, Ilaiyaraaja, among others).

Riccardo earned at the age of 19 a degree in Musical Composition from Milan’s Conservatory and later on a “summa cum laude” dual-major degree in Film-Scoring and Electronic Production/Design at Berklee College of Music. Riccardo was also the first recipient of Berklee’s film scoring department most prestigious award, the “Ramin Djawadi Award”, sponsored by the “Game of Thrones” composer himself.

Riccardo’s latest projects include the soundtrack to the Amazon Prime and Apple TV series “Puffins” featuring Johnny Depp, a collaboration with the Jane Goodall Institute, multiple arrangements for the Dubai Expo 2022, and an ongoing collaboration with Academy Award winning composer A.R. Rahman as orchestrator/arranger on multiple records and feature films (such as “Ponniyin Selvan: I”).
